Marie Kondo is helping me change my life this year.
I have to make a shameless plug for Tidying Up on Netflix if you haven’t watched it yet. It’s seriously a game changer! Go watch it RIGHT. NOW. You will not regret it!
My favorite part amidst everyone’s chaos and clutter is Marie’s spirit which embodies the mantra she teaches – our belongings are not meant to fill our houses with stuff but to create homes which spark joy. She so sweetly and joyfully helps people conquer their crap that it even inspires a toddler Mama like me who moved 3 months ago and hasn’t even gotten to the boxes in the garage yet that I, too, can conquer crap.
Enter the SIMPLE Weekly Cleaning Schedule!
While the concept of the show is more focused on getting rid of clutter and embracing minimalism, it’s also about cleaning. So while it’s still January and I can still make new goals for this year, I’ve created a new weekly cleaning schedule and routine for our home this year!
It is VERY simple and basic because that’s where our family needs to start. My husband is on board and we have divided certain tasks among us – but it’s mostly organized for me to easily glance at the fridge in the morning and remember my daily goals. This way I hope to keep on top of the little things rather than waiting until they are overwhelming to get them done.
So far it is helping immensely! If you know me you know my transition to homemaker this last year has been harder than anticipated, so this is huge!
My schedule contains our daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks, with a focus on getting ONE load of laundry done a day because that’s an area I personally struggle with a lot and want to stay on top of this year. You can download my Weekly Cleaning Schedule for free here! And the blue polka dot version for free here!
Note: You may need to select “scale image to fit page” when printing, or set margins to zero.
I ended up creating it myself rather than using one of the printables already on Pinterest because they were generally a little too detailed for me. I really want this to feel like a win for a busy mama – just the simple basics! And of course you can always clean more as needed…
If you love the idea of a cute, printable cleaning schedule but would prefer to fill in the blanks then you can also download the Customizable Weekly Cleaning Schedule version right here, print it and fill it in to get going on your own!
I also have some cute printable art for you to inspire your decluttering journey as you go! You can grab my “Ditch the Stuff, Curate Joy” printable here!
Wherever you are at in your decluttering journey, good luck! And hope you can enjoy this and have some fun “sparking joy!”

02/06/2019 at 8:11 pmI love the schedule. I think it’s simple enough that even I could manage to do it :). Thanks so much for sharing. It’s so hard to do “all the things” but this schedule includes all of the important things.

02/07/2019 at 12:27 pmI totally agree. It’s better to focus on a few important things than ALL THE THINGS when tackling cleaning! So glad you like it!
